Third Eye Closed
05:47
|
|||
You walk around with your feet on the ground
And your head in the clouds
You don't listen when you hear the words
And you talk way too loud
I've heard the story time again
I know it now by heart
What's that just beneath your skin?
It tears your soul apart
Lest ye be mindful of poetic prose
I'd like to propose
You've got your third eye closed
You believe that you know the truth
and you tell me so
I don't mind that you tow your line
but do I have to know?
Why must you rain on my parade?
What good does it for you?
I'm so tired of the whole charade
It's too much to chew
If you must fall to be aware of the rose
I'd like to propose
You've got your third eye closed
In your world where it makes all sense
you haven't found the clue
Should I allow all your thoughts of red?
It always make me blue
What do I do about your weary eye?
I have to let it go
I could be wrong and that is why
I don't pretend to know
If you find yourself consuming crows
I'd like to propose
You've got your third eye closed
Lest ye be mindful of poetic prose
If you must fall to be aware of the rose
When you find yourself consuming crows
I'd like to propose
You'got your third eye closed

Esau
08:39
|
|||
In the Mountain, Esau waits for the sun to hide his face for
The dark cool embracing night to take its place.
Underneath the tall trees, Esau sits and Esau schemes,
"Must be wary of my scary scarlet dreams."
"Cause I got a thirst for blood, sweet juicy liquid love
Gonna reach down from above and wet my appetite."
And so the night begins with Esau's search for supple skin,
A wrapping paper, gift of live within
Esau.... Esau....
In the alley way he does hide, waiting for his prey to walk on by
Unsuspecting, unprepared to die
Approaching came a woman, with a lowly walk and staggerin'
In that moment Esau felt that this would go as planned
The woman was in distress, wearing only a funky ripped up dress
So he crept up from behind to sink his teeth in for a bite
Instead of frothy red blood, flowed thick and black like mud
And then she turned around as if she felt no pain
And the lady said...
"My name is Lillith Graves, you might drink blood but I eat brains
And wash it down with organ stew, I'm hungry boy and you're the food
I lead this lifeless crew, and let me tell you what we're gonna do
We're gonna eat your head, eat your face
Cause a mind is a wonderful (terrible) thing to taste!"
Brains!!!!

Butterfly
03:41
|
|||
Butterfly takes her direction from the sun
Skylight cues breaking through the clouds
Ambiguous direction that nature has ironed out
Before she even left the ground
Butterfly heading out on a southerly flight
With a sun compass that's organized and intertwined
Her internal clock is set and well defined
She's elevated by the light
How did she know?
What made her go?
Was it polarized beams,
Or awaken by dreams of a better life?
Butterfly is now probably down in Mexico
They tried to catch her early, but a shell was all they found
She left in the morning before they came around
Never even made a sound
Butterfly, Butterfly high
Butterfly, Butterfly high

Failure Again
04:07
|
|||
Once upon a time under the yellow hot sun
In the land of milk and honey
A child was born to a man
Whose father had made a lot of money
Now war can be hell, hell it always is
In fact it really sucks
Unless you make the things to help it and then
You can really make some bucks
The child was reared, and sometimes feared
By the likes of cats and dogs
For on an occasion he was of persuasion
To put explosives into frogs
An average student at best I mean, why try?
It's just a waste of time
The future is set, no things to regret
He says, “My daddy's money's the same as mine”
Baseball and oil
And baseball and oil
And oil, and oil, and oil, and oil…
And failure, and failure, and failure again
Ah, what do you think we Saudi do about it?
Make it the leader of the free world and then
You'll really see some shit….

Almost Superhuman
06:22
|
|||
And in a moment's time I feel that familiar chill
My teeth start to tighten like they're holding on for life
I try to open, but holding back
Where's the mellow dream that the movies made so cool?
It's only the beginning, but I think I can,
I'm feeling almost superhuman
With no place to hide, I face that familiar fear
I then watch myself to search inside for something real
What was resisted now attracts
Is this just a game where you're never told the rules?
I'm starting to understand just who I am
Becoming almost superhuman
I slowly recognize what exists beyond the wall
And question everything like I'm only one day old
Climbing over, not looking back
Are we only moving to the steady beats of time?
Everything that ever was and ever will is with me
(I’m) almost superhuman
As the sun begins to rise I see the mysteries unfold
Now I clearly sense what's true and what I've been sold
Imagination brings forth creation
A thousand dreams passed before I woke from the spell
Much I can't recall, but what I know I will tell
I tried to hold my ground, but eventually fell
Was it heaven or the garden of hell?

Archie's Bunker
05:09
|
|||
Billy packed up the kids and wife
A couple of guns and a 10 inch knife
A thousand rounds and food for a year
His well trained dog and the rest of the gear
They headed out west to find a place
Where the wind blew warm and had open space
Billy thought soon it'd hit the fan
And when it did, well he had a plan
The FEMA camps were no place for him
All the eyes could see was a future dim
Never go down easy, he'll take a stand
He'll breath his last as a proud and free man
And a wise man once said,
"Just because you’re paranoid,
doesn't mean they're not out to get 'cha"
Archie watched the news for the final sign
Other folks thought that things were just fine
Bought a place in the sticks, no one else around
Got a big metal box and dug a hole in the ground
Signs at the edge "Keep out or be shot"
Didn't care if the gov'mnt liked it or not
No doubt in his mind things were gonna get bad
Might miss the old world, but no time to be sad
He hoped when it hit, he'd survive the blast
And to tell no one 'til the very last
Made it sure to be comfy to go down to hunker
Little plaque inside says "Archie's Bunker"
The ATF and the FBI
The CIA with their eyes in the sky
Everything you write, everything you do
Everything you say on your cell phone too
Cameras everywhere, every place you look
Writing every little thing down in a book
Fluoride in the water to keep us at bay
Planes overhead with mysterious spray
GMO foods making me and you sick
Feeding the machine 'til the day we kick
Won't get no help from a lead-lined vat
Or a Tesla cage, or a tin foil hat

There's No Telling
03:27
|
|||
Just might be drying out from all this heat
Fighting off what sends out me to the street
Balloon is getting bigger and it's about to burst
Keep losing myself and it's getting worse
So obsessed, over stressed...
Can't decide if I'm over you
There's no telling what I'm gonna do
These decisions aren't made on my own
Forces pulling me in directions I've never known
Dreamed I had escaped a building burning down
Ten stories with no safety net just makes one sound
Uninspired, but can't retire...
Can't decide if it's me or it's you
There's no telling what I'm gonna do
Been staring for 13 hours in a microscope
Looking for an answer to this killing joke
Hanging from a chandelier's a sorry state
Need to control the situation and it's getting late
An obsessive mind, has just one prize...
As each step brings me closer to you
There's no telling what I'm gonna do
I'm like a restless animal in a petting zoo
There's no telling what I'm gonna do
